As I continue to build out my laundry-room maker space, I figured it was about time I added a bench-mounted saw into the mix, particularly ahead of an upcoming jewellery box project that I have planned.
The issue is, my “shop” space is limited as it is, and my bench real estate is at an even greater premium. Add to this that the cam of my scroll saw broke years ago, and my DIY results in more vibrations than would generally be considered ideal.
Clearly, this situation called for a trip to my dad’s shop and a quick Sunday afternoon project!
My requirements were clear: build the cheapest and sturdiest stand that I could, and give it the most compact footprint possible.
One trip to Home Depot, $20, and 3 hours later and here is the result. A rather elegant standalone scroll saw stand that fits in the laundry room just right, dampens the vibrations from this less-than-optimally performing machinery, and even looks kinda good while doing it!
